Catching Ya"ll Up

I have been vacaying for the last couple of days.
Lovely view in California

View from room in Vegas

Golden Gate Bridge

It was so good to get away from it all. I found out recently that my job assignment has changed. I thought I would be teaching 1st grade, but will now be teaching art to all the K-5 at my school. I am very excited to be teaching something new and very nervous at the same time.
Any advice, good ideas for art projects, or art blogs feel free to share with me, I could use them!

Monday Made it and App Happy Link Ups

Well for this week's Monday Made It

I kinda of made it or painted it at least. I bought this owl corkboard at Target in the Dollar spot. I painted the eyes and beak and am thinking about painting feathers. Here it is:

I also saw a ribbon wreath on Pinterest and had to make it. This is the Pinspiration picture, it's from Lauren's Blog. She also had a video that explained the whole process, very helpful!
Here is mine with all the ribbon loops.
Now here is the finished wreath with my accents. I can't decide which one I like the best.
Which one do you think is the cutest?

I also added ribbon to a few clipboards. 3 clipboards done and 20 more to go.

I am obsessed with Apple products, especially my Ipad and Iphone.
So  have a few of apps that I find useful.

1. DCs Super Grader- It's an easygrader on your phone. I always lose mine and now I always have it.

2. Brainpop Jr. - The app shows educational videos. It has 1 free video a day, but if you have the subscription you can see all of the videos.

3. Remind101 - I have used this one yet, but heard about it from  Mrs. Stanford's Class blog. You can use it to contact all your parents, so I plan on using it a lot this year.

Crayons are so important to a first grade room.  I work at an inner city school and many kids come without all the supplies. I always end up buying lots of extras at the Back to school sales. So I'm going to mention two things I always have to stock up on now, pencils and crayons.

Toyrus has Crayola crayons 4 for $1.00. I bought 20 packs and am thinking about going to get more.

Office Max has pencils for $0.10 this week.  The limit is 3 per person, but I found this on Facebook.
I hope this is good for tomorrow too.
Simply bring in your teacher ID card and we'll allow you to purchase up to 20 of ANY ITEM in store with a limit! Stock up for school today.

FABULOUS Friday Finds and my nameplates....

I'm linking up to Fabulous Find Friday!
I have been in and out of JoAnn Fabrics all summer long. I saw this polka dot memo board many times and wasn't going to pay full price. I went earlier this week and it was 50% and got the teacher discount too so I had to buy it.
I plan to use it to hold notes from home and tardy slips. I'll have my kids slip the notes in there instead of give them to me to lose : (  I seem to always put them down and have to look for them later.

I also found a pink metal dress with hooks at Hobby Lobby. My daughter fell in love and I plan to hang it in her room. I think we will hang her dress up clothes on the hooks.
I have been seeing so many cute nameplates and decided I was going to try to make some. I had some background paper from Print Candee and decided I would use that.

I think they came out cute, what do you think?

Nominees for the One Lovely Blog Award are...

These are a few  bloggers I don't think have received this award yet, hopefully. If you have gotten this award, consider yourself REALLY LOVELY : )
I'm going to do some research to find more bloggers who haven't gotten this award and get back to you.

Well for this week's Made it Monday I made a couple of things for my classroom and home.
# 1 ~ I made the hall pass sign that I saw on Pinterest.
I painted the canvas  to match my color scheme and then added ribbon.
Look at the finished project above. I used Powerpoint and a free frame from The 3AM Teacher  to make the passes the kids will use and I'm going to clip them to the ribbons.

# 2 ~ I made my jobs chart. I purchased the owl classroom decor pack from Jessica @ secondgradenest.
I printed, laminated, and  was going to attach the cards to a ribbon. I noticed that my ribbon pattern goes horizontally and am trying to decide how to hang the job chart now. This picture is how I want it to look.

When I get the class list I'll make cards for my students to put in each empty box for their assigned job.

# 3 ~ I made a chore chart for my daughter. I found this chore chart on Pinterest@ Baeza Blog and decided I wanted to make this one. I used 2 black picture frames, metal, paint markers, and ribbon to make it.
Pinterest Inspiration
To make to magnets I used the clear river rocks and printed the jobs from Baeza Blog. I used modpodge to attach the jobs to the rocks and glued the magnets on the back. Here is my finished chore chart.

Make sure if you made something go link up to
