Hello Ya'll, Sorry I have been M.I.A. had too much going on for the last few months. I am back in action, so here is my latest post. First up I am in LOVE with my new manicure and colors on my nails. I saw a picture of these colors and style on Pinterest and had to get it. This is how they look. I have linked the picture of nails to the Pinterest link.

                                            My Favorite Organizational Pin
This is my plan for my closet organization this summer. I can't wait to do this in my closet.

My Favorite Home Decor Pin
I am thinking about making these for my bedroom. I think they would be cute in white and gray chevron, yellow, and aqua. Those are the colors of my new cover on my bed.

                                                My Favorite Printable Pin
I am going to print this for my bathroom and put it in a frame. It will go on my only empty wall, so it doesn't look so empty.

                                           My Favorite Dessert pin

Friday's Five Pics

Here are my Five random pictures from today.

This first picture is my snack after a long week. Friday night I drink a glass of Moscato and eat some Trefoil GS cookies. It is the perfect treat after a long work week.

This is a picture of my 2nd grade students make Wayne Thiebaud inspired pop art gumball machines. I got this idea from the blog, Sue Pelletier Laugh * Paint. My students love painting and they really enjoyed making these paintings.

This is a picture of some pink flowers that grow outside my home. My daughter is a real girly girl and loves the color pink. She is so in LOVE with these flowers and even gave a bouquet to her teacher.

This is my empty bulletin board the I need to complete. I have no good ideas right now, but hopefully will come up with an idea by Monday.
This is a picture of my 3rd grade students doing op art. This one of my student's finished projects. I got the idea and directions from Art with Mrs. Brown. Her site is awesome and includes great ideas with some of her powerpoints.

Pinspired Birds

In honor of spring, my classes have been doing art projects with birds.
The 2nd graders made birdhouse collages, then sponge painted their birds. I saw this project on a pin that came from a Flickr photo.
Here are a few of my favorites:

The 5th graders have been making Angry Bird pop art projects. The kids really enjoyed getting a chance to draw Angry Birds, especially the boys. I first got the idea from a pin I saw from Artsonia.
Take a look at some of their artwork. I found a cool game and handout on  Expressive monkey and the students used this as a guide for making the Angry Birds. We then added a contrasting background using black and 1 or 2 other colors of construction paper.

Here's my favorite one, hers is so creative and cute! I love how she took some artistic freedom on her version of her angry bird.

Let's Get Acquainted - Noun Game

I am linking up with Latoya at Flying into First Grade. This week's Let's Get Acquainted Linky is the noun game. You have to name your favorite person, place, thing, and animal.

My Favorite person is my daughter. She's makes my day with her silly faces, hugs and kisses, and 5,000 questions each day. This is a one of my favorite pictures of her from a couple of years ago.

My favorite place is New York City. I love all the lights, noise, and excitement. There is always something going on and the city never sleeps. I always find a new place to eat, shop, and a new show to go to on Broadway.

My favorite thing is my iPad. I use it to take videos, watch movies, check my email, play games, read books, and all types of other things. It is something I can't live without and even my daughter loves to play on it when I let her.

My favorite animal is a zebra. I am fascinated with their striped pattern.

Valentine's Day in the Artroom

This week we began doing artwork inspired by Valentine's Day and hearts. Most of the projects were based on artwork from famous artists such as Paul Klee and Burton Morris.

Kindergarten completed tissue paper "stain glass like" hearts.

1st Grade began a lesson that I found on A Faithful Attempt and was inspired by Paul Klee. My kids had a great time doing these drawings and using the rulers.

4th and 5th grade made "pop art" heart pinspired from the blog, Kids Artists. I LOVE how these hearts came out! So colorful and all unique.

Go and create some V-Day Art!

5 for Five Linky and Dr. King

Here are my 5 for Five Goals for this week...

1.  Eat breakfast at home at least 3 days this week.

2.  Get clothes ready for the work the night before, I can be indecisive and this causes me to run late in the morning.

3.  Get some personal reading done as well as reading for school.

4.  Make a menu plan for the week and stick with it.

5.  Get some ideas for Valentines Day started.

Go link up and let's see what we can get accomplished this week !

I leave you with a few quotes from Dr. King in Celebration of him and his life...

"Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better."

"The time is always right to do what is right."
